Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (T-STEM)
The Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (T-STEM) initiative creates secondary schools that focus on the subjects most needed for career opportunities in Texas. Designed to improve the quality of teaching as well as the academic performance of students, T-STEM serves to prepare Texas high school students — especially first-generation and historically underserved students — for success in college and the workforce. T-STEM engages students and exposes them to innovation and design in real-world contexts. The course of study meets admission requirements for competitive colleges, and aims to ensure that students will have the STEM qualifications needed to keep pace with the job market.
The T-STEM Blueprint
TEA supports the effectiveness of T-STEM Academies through the provision of coaching, professional development and technical assistance designed to improve students’ academic performance. The T-STEM blueprint serves as a roadmap of benchmarks and program requirements, and supports the assessment of individual T-STEM campus growth. Click the button below to view the T-STEM Blueprint.
